Even though diamond engagement rings on the beach are exposed to grains of sand, it will not really have any negative result on the diamond(s). However, you need to be careful that the sand will not scratch the precious metal. Also, sand grains can get stuck between the setting of the diamond(s) and precious metals. Professional cleaning is the solution here, advisable is to not do this at home.
With those tropical temperatures on the beach, you would probably love to take a refreshing dip in the sea. But beware! The cold water makes your fingers shrink, and there is a risk that your diamond engagement ring will slide into the sea. Trust me, finding a ring on the bottom of the sea is impossible. The same goes for the pool, however the chance that you will be able to find your engagement ring is a little bigger.
If you have a rose golden diamond engagement ring, then it is not advisable to go in the sea. Rose gold gets its beautiful color from copper which is extremely sensitive to salt. You also don’t need to fear that tanning creams and/or sprays will affect the ring, it will only make it greasy, and this is easy to clean with warm soapy water and a soft brush. Many women think they do well by 'saving' their engagement ring on the beach in a plastic bag to protect it against sand, sea water, etc. This, however, is not a good idea. A diamond ring must be able to breathe, plastic will suffocate it, which certainly will not be beneficial for the ring!
Caution is the message, but the best solution is to store the diamond engagement ring in the safe in your hotel room. This way, you can still show it off in the evening during dinner.
