Marquise diamond, also known as Navette diamond, is an elongated diamond shape, and can actually be seen as a brilliant, but in the shape of a boat. It has pointed ends and shines from the centre. The standard number of facets for the Marquise is 58, but this can vary. The special feature of this cut is that the surface of the crown is large, whereby marquise cut diamonds seem a lot bigger than they really are. It’s important to be careful with this diamond shape for the pointed ends which are somewhat fragile.
