The shimmering radiant cut is square or rectangular shaped and combines the brilliance of the standard round cut with the emerald cut (rectangular shape with cut corners). The radiant cut was developed in 1977 by Henry Gros Bard, and has still not lost its popularity. A radiant is, because of his deep brilliance, especially popular as a diamond for a beautiful engagement ring, on which he shines as one big extraordinary stone, or with small, glistening side stones on both sides.
