An emerald cut is a square or rectangular-shaped diamond with cut corners. On the crown of the diamond, there are three concentric rows of facets arranged around the table. On the pavilion however, there are three concentric rows arranged around the culet. Because of the large surface of the table, the brightness, colour and purity of the diamond, have an extraordinary brilliance. This type of cut is also known as a ‘Step Cut’ because of its broad, flat surfaces, who resemble stair steps.
